On 4/8, the first real Hams In The Park (HITP) event will take place at Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton. It's a great opportunity to show off your portable solutions, or just look at how others manage it.
Like with the Mid-Winter Madness hamfest in March, this is an opportunity for local APRS operators to experiment with creating APRS objects, sending bulletins/announcements, and operating APRS stations at the event. I'll be running a portable APRS station using an HT and a Mobilinkd TNC there, if you want to see how easy it is to set up a field station. Or you can just stop by and send a couple of beacons to make your presence known.
